Outstanding Political Initiative - Diana Wallis, Former Vice President of the European Parliament
Diana Wallis received the 112 Award from Rut Erdelyova, EENA consultant; With Dieter Nuessler, Vice Chair of the EENA Advisory Board and Emmanuel Paul, President of the 112 Foundation

In 2011, Diana Wallis launched a campaign, enlisting the support of the different Airlines and Ferry companies travelling from the UK to Europe, asking them to inform their passengers on the 112 number. By Easter 2011 Diana was joined by companies such as Easyjet, P&O Ferries, British Airways, BMI, Thomson, Iberia and DFDS. After her resignation from the European Parliament in 2012, Vice Presidents of the European Commission Kroes and Kallas decided to continue working on this initiative: major rail, air and other transport companies from all over the EU have joined in a yearlong campaign.
