Key Technologies:
BlomPICTOMETRY™:
Blom's oblique image library, created usingPictometry® technology, is a uniquecapture technology which provides multiple, geo-referenced images of each feature within an urban environment from the North, South East, West and vertically. Blom has built a database of over 4,000 European cities, the imagery is available for data libraries delivery, integratedwithin third-party websites and delivered depending upon volume, by either hard-disk or DVD.
BlomPICTOMETRY™allows viewing and measurement of the imagery via Pictometry's desktop solution, within Plug-ins in the leading GIS software systems or through an Active-X SDK, for integration to customer and/or third-party geographic datasets. BlomPICTOMETRY™ provides a rich visual information source to support analysis, reporting and decision making from the desktop, reducing down the requirement for unnecessary site visits.
Pictometry E.F.S.:
Pictometry's Electronic Field Study (EFS) is a proprietary geospatial imagery desktop software for use with Pictometry® data. The EFS software can be used to view the imagery, measure features, navigate around images as well as add annotation and other overlay 3rd party geographic vector data.
Laser scanning (LiDAR):
Laser scanning, otherwise known as LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging), is a revolutionary survey technique for capturing large areas of geospatial data quickly, accurately and cost effectively.
Blom has been one of the world's leading providers of LiDAR resources for over ten years and frequently undertake both topographic and bathymetric surveys to produce DTMs (Digital Terrain Models) and DSMs (Digital Surface Models).Laser scanning technology is extremely versatile and can be used for detailed mapping for engineering and construction projects as well as surveying marine habitats and shallow water areas.
Blom's LiDAR products are used by governmental departments, environment agencies, consulting engineers, transport authorities and many other public and private sector industries.
Bathymetric laser scanning - Hawkeye II:
Using the Hawk Eye II laser scanning system, Blom is able to offer accurate and detailed LiDAR surveys of riverbeds, coastal margins and shallow water areas. This LiDAR technology has the unique ability to capture both land and seabed data simultaneously, helping to reduce costs and improve bathymetric survey accuracy.
Hawk Eye is also fitted with a digital camera which is able to provide photography to enhance assessment of the hydrographic survey area. The system is most commonly operated from an airplane and is therefore able to complete surveys rapidly and efficiently. This can often lead to a saving of up to 40% from the cost of a traditional hydrographic survey for coastal zones and shallow water.
Key Products:
BlomURBEX™:
BlomURBEX™ is an online service which transforms digital imagery into a virtual toolkit, allowing you to locate, view and measure buildings, structures and urban landscapes.
BlomURBEX™ enables you to see the bigger picture. With standard aerial imagery you can only look vertically down on a building from above, with use of the Blom URBEX service you can now view the same building obliquely from the North, South, East, or West as well as from above.
Benefits:
• Easy online access to oblique aerial images covering more than 4,000 European cities
• Easy online access to 3D models covering several hundred European cities
• Buildings and objects can be studied in their real world locations and surroundings
• Instant measurements, data capture and analysis using the online tools
• Perform basic site surveys without leaving your office
• Simple data extraction and integration into your existing GIS or CAD environment
• Visualize the data to assist and improve your decision making process
• Easy to view, analyze and extract data only from the areas you require
BlomURBEX3D™:
BlomURBEX3D™are 3D city models designed for use on devices with limited processor capacity and for streaming in a web environment. The models are very light weight compared to other models offered on the market.
A key feature of BlomURBEX3D™ models is that each element is modeled as an entity. This means that they can be erased, replaced or mapped against since each has a unique ID associated.
Blom3D™:
Blom3D™ Blom has developed an automated production process to create real textured 3D models. These models offer new services that can be provided with viewing and manipulation software, specifically designed to provide high performance. Blom has created a database of 3D ccity models covering several hundred cities in Europe.
Through Blom's approach of using different layers, Blom3D™ gives the customer the ability to compose their own 3D models as well as using our pre-defined Blom3D™ models, which gives an unprecedented solution to meet the end-customer demands.
Real textures are extracted from Blom oblique image libraries and are applied to the 3D polygons offering realistic views.
