EENA & the EUEENA has been actively working to promote the idea of a better known, efficient and transparent 112 service chain throughout the European Union by advocating action at Eu and national level. Since 2003 EENA has been introducing complaints and petitions with the European Commission, the European Ombudsman and the European Parliament to help them understand the importance of the 112 for European Citizens. Following a petition to the European Parliament in 2006, several MEPs have been working in close collaboration with the EENA to improve the knowledge and the efficiency of the 112 within the EU. In 2007 and 2008, 2 Written Declarations were adopted with the support of the EENA. The Written Declaration on the European emergency number 112 stills holds the record of signatures (530). As announced during the conclusions of the 112 conference and exhibition in December 2004, EENA has been strengthening the actions at the European Parliament and we are happy to include here some first results...EENA thanks the MEPs committed to a better 112 for the Citizens.
